Unique international session in Kharkiv (day camp in July)
Make a difference!
The first international Magic Camp session is organized by NGO UMNITS (Kharkiv) and NGO Cincinnati Kharkiv Sister City Partnership (Cincinnati). It is a result of the very successful cooperation between these organizations in 2017 and 2018. The Ukrainian students who lived with American host families in Cincinnati are absolutely excited to host American teenagers in their native city, to enjoy a week of Magic Camp and to improve their personalities with the help of developmental Magic Camp program.
How do we make a difference?
Each American participant will:
• represent his/her country to his/her host family, other Ukrainian campers and citizens of Kharkiv;
• help break some stereotypes about the USA;
• broaden his/her horizon by learning about Ukraine and Ukrainians;
• every day assist his/her host sister/brother in improving their English skills;
• take part in interactive trainings to improve and practice soft skills — improving ourselves we make the world better!
• volunteer in at least 2 projects to help the community and set an example for Ukrainian campers in volunteering
Aims of the program:
• to learn and accept culture of Ukraine and the USA as well as other people;
• to practice and improve soft skills;
• to take an active part in volunteering project and be aware that it is a way to improve soft and people skills;
• to explore Kharkiv and its history and culture.
